Privacy Policy
What we collect, how we use it, and what we share with partners when you request financing or insurance.
Last updated May 29, 2026.
1. What we collect
- Account info — email and any profile details you provide when you create an account.
- Usage data — searches, saved listings, clicks, and how you interact with rankings, so we can improve the product and personalize results.
- Service inputs — information you enter into a feature, such as the vehicle, driver, and coverage details for an insurance quote, or the applicant details for a financing prequalification (see §3).
2. Insurance quotes
When you request insurance quotes, the vehicle, location, driver, and coverage details you enter are sent to our insurance quote partners (for example, EverQuote or Insurify) to return quotes. We do not sell your information. Once you click through to a carrier or partner, that partner handles your data under its own privacy policy.
3. Financing prequalification
When you submit a financing prequalification, the application details you enter are passed through to MotorRank’s lending partner to generate your offer.
- We do not persist sensitive application PII — we do not store your full Social Security number or other sensitive identifiers on our systems; they pass through to the lending partner, which processes them under its own privacy policy.
- Soft pull. The prequalification uses a soft credit inquiry that does not affect your credit score. We retain the non-sensitive result (such as the rate band and status) to show you your offer.
4. Cookies & click attribution
We use cookies and similar technology to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure how features perform. Outbound partner links route through an /go/… redirect so we can attribute a click to the correct partner; this is how affiliate relationships, disclosed on our Affiliate Disclosure page, are tracked.
5. Browser extension
If you install the MotorRank browser extension, it reads listing fields on pages you visit to show a verdict in your own browser session. It sends only the canonical fields needed for that verdict (year, make, model, price, mileage, VIN) — not the full URL, your search queries, or your browsing history — and does not act on a page without your input.
6. How we share
We share data with service providers who run the product on our behalf and with the financing/insurance partners you choose to engage, as described above. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose data if required by law.
7. Retention & your choices
We keep account and usage data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request access to or deletion of your data, and you can opt out of personalization and extension data contribution. To make a request, write to hello@motorrank.us.
8. Changes & contact
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date reflects the latest version. Questions about your privacy? Email hello@motorrank.us.
